Description
the body of compressed pear shape, supported on a slightly splayed solid foot with bevelled edge, tapering to a waisted neck with a flared cup-shaped mouth, the stoneware covered in a translucent faintly greenish glaze pooling in the mouth and falling short of the unglazed base

Note:
A similar jar can be found in the collection of the Shaanxi Province Museum, Xi'an, from the tomb of Li Jingxun of A.D. 608 at Liangjiazhuang, the western suburbs of Xi'an. A nearly identical, but slightly smaller, jar was sold by Christie's in their New York rooms on 16.09.-17.09.2010, lot 1301, sale 2339.
