Description
the hilt with pierced inner shell hand guard (one missing) resting on side rings, the quillions turned to the blade and knuckle guard and with fish tail terminals, the arms of the hilt swept to join the side guards in an elegant sweep, the large multi- faceted pommel of ovoid form, the grip bound with a double twist of wire, the double edge tapering blade of diamond section with blade-smiths mark at the ricasso, with an old ivory inventory tag numbered 24 all over light corrosion on hilt and blade
