Provenance: The Baltic Exchange, London
The Baltic Exchange was built in 1901-2 to the designs of W Wimble and TH Smith at which time these chandeliers were installed. It was widely acknowledged to be one of the finest and grandest Edwardian commercial buildings in the City of London. The chandeliers feature in numerous drawings, paintings, photographs and even cartoons of the Exchange. The building was massively damaged in 1992 by an IRA bomb and subsequently demolished and redeveloped.
