Description
crossbanded with ebony stringing, sunk panels with bead moulding, the reverse breakfront stage with shaped ledge back and pagoda topped gadrooned pedestal with sliding cupboard fronts, central section with lifting door, above breakfront frieze drawer flanked by cupboards enclosing two drawers to left, tapering pedestals with four ring turned and reeded columns at the corners on plinth base with bronzed paw feet centered by palmettes

Provenance: Straloch House, Aberdeenshire. This magnigficent Regency sideboard is the epitome of Scottish work of the period and an exceptionally grand example. It bristles with Scottish features such as the sunken bead and reel panels, the stage back and the use of ash lining to the drawers. It is signed to the underside in pencil.
