Description
the double serpentine marble inset top with pierced gilt-metal gallery above two serpentine doors inset with Sevres-style porcelain panels painted with putto within a gilt and pale blue border and enclosing shelves, flanked by porcelain pilasters above two drawers, the base with serpentine top, further inlaid with a shaped Sevres-style panel depicting a mother reading to her children, above slide out panel with inset tooled leather writing surface above porcelain inlaid panel and drawers to each side similarly inlaid, the whole raised on square tapering cabriole legs with gilt-metal mounts terminating in cast sabots
