the case with arch and tapering cresting with gilt ball finial, the arched brass plate with silvered strike/silent dial to the arch, the silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, inner border indicating the date, cast brass spandrels, the main case of plain form with canted reeded corners and stepped plinth base, raised on gilt brass bracket feet, gilt side carry handles, the twin fusee movement striking on a bell with pull repeat mechanism, engraved GRAVELL & SON, LONDON to the backplate
