depicting Erigone seated on a lion's pelt beneath a fruiting grape vine and holding a chalice and a bunch of grapes, being presented a floral crown by the draped figure of Zephyr, on a naturalistic rocky ground; the circular white enamel Roman number dial in a barrel case surmounted by a pine cone finial and inscribed 'Zephir precede Bachus au coeur d'Erigone et de plaisir ses sens ... elle dit ah Zephir me Couronne', on a plinth base with classical relief panels, raised on hairy paw feet on a shaped verde antico marble base, the eight day movement striking a bell
