Literature:
The Unappreciated Dhurrie, Steven Cohen et al, 1982, plate 1
Dhurries, Nada Chaldecott, 2003, plate 164
Note:
Chaldecott notes on p103 that this is one of two: "highly stylised and very finely woven dhurries with a rather more unusual treatment of the central medallion ... the naive quality of the design and the mirror-image compostition are a mark of their originality. The use of several borders, additional top and bottom stripes, known as patti, and the fineness of the weaving indicate a special comission rather than a standard jail product."
