Description
the bulbous ovoid body tapering to faceted broad foot, pale blue tin-glaze, short cylindrical mounted neck and rim edge, painted in yellow, blue and sage green, with Chinese long tailed exotic birds, vegetation and peonies on the body, a band of flower heads and leaves on the upper body and a band of flattened elongated palmettes on the foot, and a small band of geometric flower heads on the neck partially obscured by the mount

Note:
A smaller but similarly shaped baluster vase dated 1678 is in the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag. See D. F. Lunsingh Scheurleer, Delft : Niederlandische fayence , Klinkhardt & Biermann, 1984,cat. 171. A faceted double gourd jar with a similar foot, painted in the same colours, is in the V&A reserve collections (C466.1927) and attributed to Delft 1660-1680.
