Provenance: Supplied to Syston Park, Lincolnshire, for Sir John Thorold 9th Baronet (1734-1815), MP for Lincolnshire and Minister of State for Colonies. Thence by descent to Sir James Thorold 14th Baronet (1877-1965) who gave it to his second son, Montague Thorold, father of the current owner, John Thorold of Marston Hall, Grantham. Marston Hall has been the seat of the Thorold family since 1380.
