The Estate of the Late Dr W P Dallas Ross
Note:
A similar bureau bookcase was retailed by Suffolk House Antiques and illustrated in Apollo Magazine, June 1999, page 37.
There is also a copy of a letter to Dr Dallas Ross from Dr Tessa Murdoch, Deputy Curator of the Furniture Department at the Victoria & Albert Museum, dated September 1999 and discussing this and the Suffolk House bureau. Her suggestion is that they might have been made by the London firm of Coxed & Woster (1700-1736).
