Maharana Jagat Singh II (reigned 1734-51) and was the ruler of Mewar, Udaipur.
The kingdom of Mewar was the most distinguished and opulent Hindu court of the 18th century. It had a rich history of the patronage of the arts, especially under Maharana Jagat Singh II, with a great number of masterpieces created during what was truly a Golden age of Indian arts.
