Description
the three-quarter pierced brass gallery above a narrow frieze drawer and quarter veneered fall front with central purple heart diamond flanked by parcel gilt fluted tapered columns, the interior fitted with six graduated maple veneered drawers above apertures and a baize inset writing surface, the banded lower section with a drawer and slender square tapered legs united by an undertier and ending in spade feet REVISED ESTIMATE

This writing table was formerly at Conishead Priory seat of the Braddyll family. John Gale Braddyll was MP for Lancaster Borough 1780-84 and then Horsham 1790-91 Carlisle 1791-96. He became a Groom of the Bedchamber to the Prince of Wales.
