Footnote
Note: Donald Ross's London workshop specialised in finely inlaid furniture during the second half of the 19th century. He became particularly celebrated for his use of 'dot and trellis' parquetry, strongly influenced by the work of French ebenistes, particulary Jean-Henri Reisener. Ross was also a client of, and supplier to, the firm of Edwards & Roberts who made and retailed fine furniture in the French taste from their premises in Wardour Street in London.
