Footnote
Note: The Lord Cromer was a merchant ship, registered in Liverpool, which set off on her maiden voyage in 1912, bound for Louisburg, Nova Scotia. She was badly holed by ice on the journey and had to put in for repairs at Halifax. The facilities were not available and she had to proceed, in a crippled state, to New York in order to have the repairs made. Over a period of years, the ship was sold to other lines and renamed more than once. She finally sank in a collision off Duncansby Head, north east Scotland in 1942.
