the shaped hammers and flat locks engraved with border decoration and leaves at the tail and signed W & J Rigby, engraved and fire blued trigger guards with pineapple finials and fire blued back straps concealing apertures for three spare lead bullets, the re browned barrels with sighting grooves, bead fore sight engraved DUBLIN Irish registration mark on one barrel CN 4556, full walnut stocks with chequered butts and silver butt caps, blued steel ramrod pipes with captive swivel ram rods

Note: John Rigby started a gunmaking business in Dublin in 1735.In 1801 he was working at 19 Suffolk Street, Dublin ;on his death in 1819, his son William and John Jason carried on the business. In 1866 they opened a shop in London at 72 St.James's Street.
