the flared neck decorated with bamboo, each side of the body with a panel of different plants: magnolias, chrysanthemums, prunus and lotus, all with birds in the branches, two opposed sides with poems, unglazed foot with glazed recessed square bearing six character mark

This is one of a group of similar vases made in the 1690s, which appear to be the productions of a small number of non-imperial kilns in Jingdezhen.
