Note: Buhot began his career at the end of the neo-Classical period of French sculpture as a student of David d'Angers at the École des Beaux-Arts, first exhibiting at the Salon in 1837 and becoming a regular participant in its exhibitions until 1865. His works in bronze are primarily figurative.
