by William Burns of Edinburgh, of galleried two tier design with ball finials, each with a base drawer and brass pull handle (one stamped 'Wm Burns, Edinr. XXX Square' ), on short ring turned legs with brass socket castors

William Burns was a noted Edinburgh cabinet maker and upholsterer, working from premises at 70 Adam Square between 1825 and 1827. Adam Square was later demolished to allow for the building of Chambers Street.
