with textured gilt stiff leaf decoration to the rim, a border with stylised floral and foliate gilt decoration on a dark blue ground, the well framed with gilt border moulded with stylised flowers and painted with a full-length woman standing in classical dress of pale blue and pink silk, signed K Bauer, blue painted beehive mark and gilt painted "Tanz Bajadere" D 11

Die Bajadere (the Yankee Princess) is an operetta by the Hungarian composer Emmerich Kalman with libretto by J Brammer and A Grunwald. It premiered in Vienna on 23rd December 1921.
