Description
four swept bars and flat brass guard, stamped with issue marks, brass pommel of traditional form, the spiral grip covered in brown hide and bound with a small area of double twisted brass wire [most wire binding now missing] the single edged blade with double fullers for the length of the 38inch blade with makers mark on the top back edge and proof marks at the ricasso [missing its scabbard]; and a German WWI Pioneer sword with sharp blued single edge curved blade with single fuller signed HEMBERG at the riccaso, the wooden slab grip with three brass rivets, with flat iron wrist guard and brass mounted leather scabbard (2)
