Description
the canted rectangular domed lid, decorated in low relief with courtly scenes centered with the Watson armorial crest and inscription 'ESTO QUOD ESSE VIDERIS', framing initials 'J.W.', within a floral and foliate border, the interior fitted with twelve counter trays and seven lidded boxes, each profusely decorated in gilt on a black ground and containing the following mother of pearl counters; 78 long rectangular armorial; 17 short rectangular armorial, 32 fish (one snapped), 38 circular armorial counters, and 13 miscellaneous counters, the sides decorated with dragons, the whole raised on carved paw feet (detached)
