designed by Sir Robert Lorimer, NOTE THERE IS NO SLATE INSERT
made by Wheeler's of Arncroach, the rectangular moulded top above a panel inlaid with a hunting scene above two short and one long drawer with raised panels and turned handles, on stile feet, modern slate insert
107cm wide, 81cm high, 45cm deep

By descent from Sir David and Janet Chalmers.
Note: There was an oak writing desk made by Wheeler and included by Lorimer in the 1896 Arts and Crafts Exhibition which had a pink marble slab on top. It may be that this piece was intended to be finished in this manner.
