Description
attributed to Thomas Chippendale, the circular wheel back with central circular panel and moulded waved rim enclosing radiating arched spokes, above a waisted and incised support with fluted collar, the shaped seat with moulded rim above a stop fluted frieze on square section tapering legs with block feet

This chair can be compared closely with various hall chairs supplied by Chippendale to, among other houses, Normanton Hall, Harewood and Nostell Priory. Particularly distinctive features include the wheel back with its panelled and fluted shoe, and the form of the front leg.
