Note: The silversmith George Hart was a member of C.R. Ashbee's Guild of Handicraft, joining just before it moved to Chipping Campden in 1902. In 1908 after the Guild's forced closure, Hart took over the Silk Mill silversmith's workshop, registering the 'GofH' (Guild of Handicraft) mark to himself in 1912. To this day, the Old Silk Mill is the premises for Hart Silversmiths.
Hart & Huysche was established in 1919 between George Hart and Reynell Huysche, his half-brother and erstwhile apprentice. Little is known about the short-lived partnership, but they did sell their metalwork through Gordon Russell's firm. The brevity of production makes Hart & Husche designs rare, another survivor including a beaten copper bowl, currently in the Wilson Museum, Cheltenham.
