Note: The Duchess of Sutherland Cripples Guild was established in 1898 by Millicent, the 4th Duchess of Sutherland to provide medical treatment to children who had been injured in the Staffordshire Potteries and to teach them a trade. They began producing metalwork from 1907 - primarily small bowls and vases, but larger decorative items were also produced before the Guild closed in 1922.
