Note:
Jessie Keppie, the youngest sister of the architect John Keppie, was engaged to Charles Rennie Mackintosh, before he met and married Margaret Macdonald. She studied at the Glasgow School of Art between 1888-1899 under Fra Newbery and James Dunlop and worked in watercolours, painting landscapes and flowers, possibly influenced in technique by the work of Arthur Melville. Mackintosh worked at the architects firm of Honeyman & Keppie in Glasgow where John Keppie was a partner.
