Note: The squirrel motif in this lot resembles a wrought iron radiator grille by C.A. Llewellyn-Roberts for The Birmingham Guild Ltd. Ernest Gimson also produced metalwork with squirrel and oak leaf designs, in particular a pair of brass andirons, now in Cheltenham Museum.
