Footnote
The selvedge mark on this piece was used after the foundation of Morris & Co and before the move to Oxford Street in 1877. 'Honeysuckle' was designed by William Morris in 1876. In the late 1870's, mainly for commercial reasons, kits were made available in three stages of production; only the background printed, the embroidery started as a guide or the full design executed by the firm.
