Note: In 1896 Miss Cranston commissioned Walton to refurbish her Buchanan Street Tea Rooms whilst Charles Rennie Mackintosh was employed to decorate the walls of the Ladies Tea Room. Chairs similar to the present lot can be seen in contemporary photographs of the tea room.
