Footnote
Note; Stephen Adam (1846-1910) established his studio in Bath Street, Glasgow in 1870. He was responsible for much of the finest stained glass produced in the country for the next forty years. Much of his secular glass, such as the present window, was commissioned by the newly wealthy Scottish industrialists and shipping magnates. Adam's equally talented son, also Stephen, left for America after a bitter quarrel with his father.
