Biography: David Sawyer is a modern British Impressionist, working within the tradition of landscape painting. He trained at the Canterbury College of Art, and has worked professionally as an artist since graduating in the early 1980s. Sawyer divides his time between studios in London and south-west France. Working predominantly in oils, Sawyer is interested in architectural subjects and the power of light to reveal structure, and create mood and atmosphere. He exhibits regularly with the Royal Society of British Artists, New English Arts Club and Chelsea Art Society. In 2019, the acted as official tour artists for The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, on their visit to Barbados, Cuba and the Cayman islands.
