Note:
Hamish Fulton has been a prominent name in British art since the 1960s. In common with his peers Richard Long and Gilbert and George, Fulton's practise can be described as part conceptual, part photographic, part sculptural. His own description, however, is 'walking artist'. Fulton follows a 'no trace' ethic and, rather than collect material for display, his art consists of the act of walking itself, the journey he makes and the documentation and representation that follows. His work features in the collections of many major global art institutions, including Tate Britain and MoMA.
