Footnote
Much of Breuer-Weil's work explores the themes of Life and Death and the Passing of Time. In the drawing Generations, the artist represents the different generations - past and present - as layers of land laying one upon another each holding a single generation. The different generations are shown to overlap, as they do in real life, with humans depicted in various stages of growth. Breuer-Weil's use of this metaphor is uniquely successful in expressing the very nature of continuity and time.
