Footnote
Note:
The present vessel, with its spout resembling the stirrup of a horse's saddle, emerged as a popular form along Peru's northern coast for around 3,000 years. While scholars continue to debate the significance and symbolism of this unique form, it has been proposed that its unique design may have served to prevent liquid evaporation in addition to offering practicality for transportation.
