Russian bank note. c. 1911, signed by Debussy at upper edge, mounted, previous framed and glazed, inscription on mount relating to Colette Willi, accompanied by a letter from the manager of the Royal Opera Covent Garden

Note: It is thought that this bank note was made in payment for a wager between Debussy and Fokine regarding the music for the 1911 opening in Paris of Le Martyre de Saint Sebastien. It was then, in turn, presented to Madame Colette Willi who then presented it to the British Red Cross.
