First English edition, 4to, xxi, [ii], 384, engraved portrait frontispiece, 8 hand-coloured charts, 3 folding and laid down on linen, 2 hand-coloured aquatint views, 3 engraved plates, nineteenth century calf, spine gilt, lacks final two leaves: pp. 385-388, some spotting and offsetting, slight discolouration to charts and text, waterstain to frontispiece, some dust-soiling to title and a few other leaves
