A folio of 66 line drawings and watercolours by Alasdair Gray, including drawings captioned Hugh McBain, Kirsten, Bill Skinner, Mike Gill, Shawfield Cottage, Steve Gill in the St. Columba workshop, 71 Scott Street, mostly nudes, life-drawing classes and portraits, mostly biro or ink drawings, several watercolour and/or pencil, from 38 x 56cm to 16 x 8cm., 5 on ruled cash register leaves, 3 signed, 2 mounted on board, mostly mounted in a large cash register album, one dated 1957

Note: An interesting folio of line drawings by the author of Lanark, 1982 Janine and The Fall of Kelvin Walker . Gray illustrates his books himself and has produced many murals as well as paintings, including the ceiling mural for The Auditorium of the Oran Mor on Byres Road in Glasgow, one of the largest pieces of art in Scotland.
The drawings of Inge are of Inge Sorenson (1961-1970), Gray's first wife and those of Mike Gill are of his friend George Michael Gill (1923-2005), film producer and director.
