Note: These "letters" were written by Henry Labouchere to The Daily News from Paris during the siege of 1870-71 under the "nom-de-plume" of "our besieged resident". They were addressed to Mr Robinson, editor of The Daily News, and later came into the possession of of Henry Oppenheim who at that time was one of the proprietors of the paper.
