Letter, signed at head, "Charles R", "To our right trustie and right well beloved cousin and counsellor Henry Viscount ffrankleand, Lord Deputie of the Kingdome of Ireland", thanking him for preferring Henry Lesley to the Thresorship of St. Patricks in Dublin, confirming his appointment and requesting his continued support of Lesley, one leaf, 30.5 by 20.5cm., "from our court at Greenwich, 29 day of June, 1629"

Note: Henry Cary, 1st Viscount Falkland (1575-1633) became a supporter of the Northwest Passage Company in 1611, was created first Viscount Falkland and Lord Deputy of Ireland in 1620, and proposed a colony in Newfoundland for settlement by Irish colonists.
