Orpington & London, 1886 -1900. 8vo, 3 volumes bound from original 28 parts, original titles bound in, 4 plates, later half red morocco gilt; [bound in] Autograph letter signed by John Ruskin, dated January 1857, addressed to "My dear Mrs Cameron", regarding a gift, "I received last night your beautiful little present and was very grateful for it, and am so still, and shall be so more and more...", 2 pages, pasted onto rear endpaper, [with] a small sketch of a snowdrop signed by Ruskin pasted opposite, with pencil inscription above, "To Mr Hurst [?] at Braidwood, in snowdroptime 21st July 1900", [with] a further autograph letter signed from Ruskin's father John James, dated 25th July 1856, regarding the fourth volume of Modern Painters, two pages, pasted to rear endpapers (3)
