An album of photographs, watercolours and autograph signatures, circa 1896-1927, 4to, 96 leaves, including 53 watercolours, c.200 photographs and 2 photo-montages of groups over watercolour backgrounds, of various country house gathering across Scotland, including activities and guests at Craiganour Lodge, Perthshire from 1896-1904, Loch Garry 1905-1907, Dunmaglas 1909, The Barracks at Rannoch 1910, Farleyer 1911, Cumloden 1912, Cromlix House 1913, Farr 1914-1916, Medmenham Abbey 1917, Lamington 1921, Easter Elchies House 1922, Yester House in Gifford 1923, Cortachy 1924-25, Drummond Castle near Crieff 1927, each of the guests has signed and dated the volume alongside the sketches and photographs, watercolours initialed C.M.N. [Charles M. Newton], I.C.U., E.M.H., M.T.F. [M. Theresa Farquhar], contemporary morocco gilt, rubbed at edges

Note: A charming and extensive record of family gatherings in the Scottish Highlands over a period of 30 years. Below their signature guests executed watercolours recoding activities including stalking, beating, boating, carriages, motor cars, Highland games, fishing as well as interiors. Several familes were reunited year after year, including the names Lowther, Campbell, Rowley, Stanhope, Drummond, Somerset, Farquhar, Ponsonby, Alston, Cavendish-Bentinck and Goulburn.
