A.L.S. [to Mr Baxter, chemist] returning gloves which "are not at all stronger or stiffer than the ones I possess" and asking for a pair to be "made with stiffer hairs or bristles", Down, Sept. 23, 140 x 218mm., with "from Wm. Baxter Jun. Bromley Kent March 1888" in another hand at foot, on the verso is quoted another letter to Mr Baxter, the old pharmaceutical chemist of Bromley on the same subject, referring to Dinneford's friction gloves and that Baxter eventually had some specially made for Mr. Darwin, the note signed J.E. Saul [?], 12 March 1888
