Bookplate of William Patrick Adam (1823-1881), Blair Adam Library. Adam was a member of Parliament for the Liberal Party, and Governor of Madras from December 1880 until his death in May 1881. Blair Adam House (also known as Blairadam) was built by his great-grandfather, the eminent architect William Adam, in the 1730s, and is still owned by the family today.
