The Evening Post. London, 1714-16. 6 issues from the period 22-24 June 1714 (proclamation promising a reward for the capture of James Edward Stuart, if he landed on British or Irish soil) to 5-7 April 1716 (report of memorial presented to the Duke Regent of France asking that Jacobites be expelled from France);
The Caledonian Mercury. Edinburgh, 1745-48. 11 issues from the period 23 September 1745 (report of the battle of Prestonpans) to 28 June 1748 (report of amendments and enforcement of the Disarming Act 1746, including the restriction of Highland dress), other subjects covered are the surrender of Carlisle to the Jacobite army, trials of Jacobite leaders;
