Description
[cover-title]. Oblong 4to (24.4 x 26cm), contemporary red crushed morocco by Zaehnsdorf, front cover lettered in gilt, all edges gilt, 30 etchings with aquatint (many in sepia), mounted on linen hinges and interleaved with tissue-guards, comprising 10 views of Bombay and environs, 6 each of the Lucknow Residency, Darjeeling and environs, and Calcutta, and 2 of elsewhere, several of the Bombay views signed in the print by ‘C R B Barrett’ (i.e. Charles Robert Browning Barrett, fl. c. 1889-1930) with dates 1890-1, all but one of the Lucknow views signed in the print by ‘Phillimore’ and with publisher's imprint of Catty & Dobson, London, binding scuffed and rubbed, indentations to front board, contents somewhat spotted and toned;

Mannurkar’ (probably the publisher) lettered in gilt, and with ticket of ‘K. R. Torvi, artist, Bijapur’ (probably the photographer), 12 albumen-print photographs (10.2 x 15cm) pasted to rectos only of stiff card mounts with lithographic floral borders and manuscript captions, small tear to foot of spine;
