Description
in the relevant local languages, items include:
Afghanistan, parliamentary elections of 2005. UN Electoral Complaints Commission, large poster showing examples of electoral malpractice, 90 x 58.5cm, closed tear to lower margin; Joint Electoral Management Body, folder of election material including a guide to voting (stapled booklet), and some 10 similar flyers, pamphlets and stickers; 4 candidate posters (including female candidate Fawziyah Gilani); ballot paper for province of Herat (with candidates identifies in writing and by symbols for illiterate voters), with several mock ballot papers. Together with 6 provincial ballot papers for the 2004 presidential elections, and a ballot paper and international observer’s armband for the 2019 Afghan presidential election between Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah;
Balkans, an extensive collection of material relating to local, parliamentary and presidential elections in Kosovo, Bosnia and Serbia, 1999-2010, including some 40 posters (many being Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe information posters), and some 50 other items including pamphlets (voting guides etc.), coasters, badges, ballot papers;
Nigeria, presidential election of 2015. 4 posters (59 x 41.5cm) providing information on electoral offences and the relevant penalties, with 2 similar posters issued by the Police Service Commission;
Bougainville, Papua New Guinea, 5 items relating to the 2017 parliamentary elections, including poster (29.5 x 21cm) depicting examples of electoral malpractices, a code of conduct for candidates, etc., 6 posters (largest 59.5 x 42cm) relating to the independence referendum of 2019 and general elections of 2020, with 2 related flyers;
with associated items including posters and ephemera relating to Iraq (out-of-country voting programme, 2005) and Ukraine (local elections, 2015), and Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe tabard, baseball cap and armband
Provenance
Acquired by the vendor while working in international election management from 2000 onwards, including senior roles in Kosovo, Afghanistan, and the Iraq out-of-country Elections in Scotland, with additional advisory roles in Nigeria and Papua New Guinea.
