Rome, [1631-7]. 2 volumes, large folio (47.4 x 35cm), 18th-century straight-grain red morocco gilt, spines gilt in compartments, broad floral and foliate rolls gilt to covers and turn-ins, blue silk doublures, 314 engraved plates after Joachim von Sandrart and others, depicting Roman statuary, busts, bas reliefs, architecture and similar, many double-page, a few folding,&nbsp;each plate with five-line frame in red ink added by hand,&nbsp;spines and joints slightly rubbed, volume 2 headcap worn, wear to tips, lacking 8 plates (numbers 10, 36, 54, 55, 69, 60, 103 and 131 in volume 2), a few plates in volume 1 closely trimmed (e.g. 125, 126, 152, 153, 165), occasional spotting and browning, a few plates printed or bound slightly askew [Cicognara 3397]
