Description
126 photos, reputedly compiled by British soldier Richard Burnett whilst stationed in Weihaiwei, China, including a photograph of ‘The staff We-Hai-Wei 1933’, 24 x 16cm, photographs of local people and scenery in Hong Kong (mostly c.11.5 x 8.5cm), a funeral in Japan, images of sampans, several military award ceremonies, 8 photographs featuring Mr and Mrs Lindbergh and their plane ('Lindburgh's [sic.] Plane', ‘Aboard H.M.S. Hermes’, ‘Me and Mrs Lindburgh Aboard Hermes’, ‘Landing ’wrong way'', ‘Landing ’right way'', ‘Salvaging damaged seaplane ’Hermes'', each between 12 x 9.5cm and 6 x 8.5cm), 2 harbour scenes at Weihaiwei, each c.26 x 10cm; these followed by a further 62 images seemingly depicting 1930s Germany; together, mostly captioned, in a leather album with coloured leather onlay depicting Mount Fuji and a Japanese castle
