A printed note pasted to the lower board reads: ‘The President then exhibited to the meeting a copy of the Golden Book, Kamma-Vacha. This was a Buddhist manual, containing a collection of seven ecclesiastical formularies…The office for admission was the first in the book. This had been edited with an English translation by Mr. Dickson for the ‘Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society’, and also separately by Dr. Spiegel with a Latin translation…’
